The Life of a Mangwanani Therapist
My name is Nokubonga Soga.
I wake up around 04:30 in the morning to prepare for work as I stay in Kraaifontein.
I use a local taxi from Kraaifontein to Kraaifontein Station at R7 a trip.
Then I take the train to Bellville and change over to get a train to Kuilsriver. I have a monthly train ticket at R180.00. I get the company transport from Kuilsriver station and arrive at work around 07:30.
When I arrive at work I go straight to my department to prepare for the day. When I am done I have to sing and welcome clients to the spa.
At 09:00 I start my treatments until 12:00 when the clients and I go for lunch. I then have to sing during lunchtime for Birthdays and anniversaries. I then go back to the treatment rooms to complete the session until 17:30. I have to sing and thank clients for coming.
When all the clients have left we get transported back to the station where I get a train at 18:18 to Bellville and then Kraaifontein and a taxi home. If there are any delays I take a taxi to Bellville and then Kraaifontein which costs R10.00 a trip. There is no trains on weekends.
